RTD surface temperature probes (90.2554)

Features

  • For temperatures from -50...+120°C
  • As cylindrical surface or flat surface probe
  • Easy and fast installation
  • Low thermal mass

Applications

  • Cylindrical surface probe for measuring the temperature on closed pipe systems or on many other cylindrical surfaces
  • Flat surface probe for measuring the temperature on flat surfaces

Description

RTD surface temperature probes are preferably used for measuring temperatures on closed pipe systems or other cylindrical surfaces. There is no necessity for mechanical modification of the measurement location due to the easy installation via cable ties.
An advantage to the indirect method of temperature measurement is that disruption of the flow stream is avoided. Additionally, the life of the RTD is not shortened by the effects of either pressure or chemicals.
The low thermal mass of the sensor means that there is very little influence of the sensor on the measured object. Thermal conductance paste is available to improve heat transfer. Large differences in temperature between the measured medium and the surrounding ambient air will influence the measurement. In such cases, we recommend additional insulation around the sensor.
The measuring insert is normally fitted with a Pt 100 temperature probe according to DIN EN 60 751, Class B in 2-wire circuit; versions with Pt 500 or Pt 1000 can also be supplied.
